On my most recent microadventure, I explored the area around Denver. I didn't have a lot of time or money to spend. But I was able to find some really nice quick things to do.
The evening I found a great geeky hangout called Lair of Abraxas. They are a bar / hookah lounge with space for gaming. And, as is most important to me, they had a selection of teas. I can't say no to a tea service, and this one came with a tiny dragon.

After having a relaxed evening sipping on some mint tea. I was excited to hear about the Rocky Mountain National Armory Wildlife Reserve. Just outside of Denver was this beautiful prairie park. Unfortunately, I didn't have time this trip to do any real hiking, but there were several trails. I settled with driving their car path through the reserve. It's an 11 miles loop thought the playing with the Rocky Mountains looming in the distance. I saw several deer and prairie dogs, but I didn't get to see any Buffalo, so I'll just have to go back and try again.
I wish I had more time to play, but it's close enough that I will get to make another trip at some time in the future. The flight home was delayed because of a small lighting storm, but I took these beautiful photos of the lights as we approach the central coast of California. It almost looks like a universe.
What should I do when I go back to Denver? Where should I escaped to next?
